By car: Aveiro is reachable from northern Portugal by either the A1/A25 or the A29/A25 highways, and from southern Portugal by the A1/A25 or the A17/A25 highways. From eastern Portugal, follow the A25 highway that comes from the border with Spain.

These highways are toll roads, and most of them have authomatic payment systems (no actual on-road tolls for payment). Foreign cars have the possibility to associate a credit card with the license plate where toll fees will be charged by means of the Easy Toll system. Easy Toll registration points are close to the main highway entrances in the country. More information at http://www.portugaltolls.pt/en/web/portal-de-portagens/home.
